Training Africa’s Next Generation of Spiritual Leaders

Freshmen receive Devices!

The 2025 freshman class receives much-needed tablets to support online learning.

In our previous newsletters, we shared that AIU has moved to an online learning platform (Moodle) that is more convenient for both professors and students. With this technological advancement, having devices to support online learning is often a challenge for our students who come from rural areas.

In January, 15 new students arrived on campus, eager to learn the Word of God. To address the challenge of accessing Moodle, AIU gave each freshman a tablet, enabling them to thrive in the university’s new system.

We are grateful to God for this timely gift to our freshman class. Thank you to all who contributed toward these valuable resources and invested in the lives of our students.

Our freshmen could not hide their joy upon receiving this wonderful gift – you can see their smiling faces in the included photo. It is a joy to see what the Lord is doing in the lives of our students, and especially those who are new to campus. We hope that our students will continue to spread the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ, building on the blessings they have already received. As they walk with Jesus every day, we also hope to see them grow and develop in their individual spiritual lives.

Please pray that our students will continue to be motivated to study God's Word. Additionally, pray for the 2025 freshman class as they adjust to life at AIU.

NEW Library Databases!

The addition of two new online databases enhances research capabilities for all at AIU.

We praise God for the great things he continues to do in the life of our university. We are so excited about a recent development in expanding our library. Since its inception, AIU has only had a physical library, intended for use by both students and staff. Our library building on campus, which currently houses nearly 6,500 books, can only accommodate a limited inventory.

In God’s providence, we now have the means to increase our library space through an online platform where students and staff can access various academic resources at their convenience.

In January, AIU successfully acquired access to new databases for the library: Global Digital Theological Library (GLDTL) and Galaxie Software. With the addition of these two databases, both students and staff will have access to a plethora of resources. The GLDTL offers more than 300 thousand books, 15 million articles, 11 thousand journals, and 20 subject aids. Similarly, through Galaxie Software, AIU will have access to hundreds of theological journals authored by respected Christian leaders and theologians.

Elvis Chibuye, AIU’s assistant librarian, conducted several orientation sessions for students and staff.

Staff and students are now using these new databases and are appreciating the content they provide. These new resources will boost our research projects because AIU will have a pool of credible and reliable sources at its disposal, accessible from any location.
— Elvis Chibuye, AIU Assistant Librarian

We are so thankful for God’s provision and pray with our students and staff that they will use these resources wisely.

The included pictures show our physical library on campus and our staff attending an orientation on how to navigate the online library databases.

New Printer!

AIU partner, Source of Light, receives a new printer, enabling greater gospel ministry.

AIU continues to grow its relationships with different partner ministries. Since 2023, we have partnered with Source of Light, a Christian organization that seeks to offer discipleship training to Christians all over the world. We continue to see fruit in our ever-expanding partnership with Source of Light.

Until now, discipleship materials have been distributed in very limited amounts because of the scarcity of resources. As part of its expansion project, Source of Light has made it a priority to procure equipment to make discipleship materials more available. Arrangements were recently made and generous people gave toward the purchase of a RISO printing machine. The RISO printer is an industrial printing machine that will help us produce discipleship materials in bulk.

We cannot hide our joy at what God has done. When we started the project, it seemed impossible. But God raised generous people with the passion to see thousands reached with the gospel and discipled. Our mandate is to distribute these Christ-centered lessons, train leaders, and establish discipleship schools across the country of Zambia. This machine will help us fulfill our mission of making disciples, and bringing every nation and tongue into a mature relationship with Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the local church.
— Kelvin Chisiza, Zambia National Director, Source of Light

School Outreach Ministry!

Back on campus, AIU students continue to make an impact on the community through local school ministry.

From October to January, our outreach department was on break, with only staff members and a few students maintaining outreach efforts while most had gone home. AIU’s SENT teams, consisting of staff and students, have continued to see many people come to faith in Christ as outreach programs resume for the new year.

Many churches and schools have shown interest in having our staff and students assist them in discipleship initiatives and regular evangelism. Our school ministry program resumed in January, and our students continue to share the gospel and disciple pupils in several local schools. School managers and teachers have expressed their joy to hear the testimonies of those who have come to faith through this ministry. We praise the Lord for continuing to grow and sustain this work.

Our outreach initiatives give AIU students a chance to experience ministry firsthand, putting into practice the principles they learn in class. Below is a report from Peter, a student who is actively involved in school ministry.

When we go to school ministry we teach Bible stories, answer questions that pupils have concerning the Bible, play meaningful games, and teach how to pray. We now have pupils who can say memory verses and explain the gospel. I am always encouraged and challenged by how these pupils respond to the truth of the Word of God.
— Peter Kumatundu

We are so thankful for all the ministry opportunities and people who are coming to faith in Christ. It is the Lord’s doing! Please keep our students in your prayers as they continue to serve at these local schools.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT!

JUSTIN AND NAMAKAU SIAME

Registrar

Justin Siame is from Mpemba village in Chongwe district. Since graduating from AIU in 2013, Justin has served the institution as registrar. In this capacity, his responsibilities include maintaining and securing academic records, reviewing grades, preparing transcripts and reference letters, corresponding with our accreditor, and heading the academic department. He has a huge job!

I consider serving at AIU a breathtaking privilege, of which I am undeserving. My incalculable gratitude to God for this role is still insufficient. I have been learning to be accountable for mistakes, to apologize, and to rectify them. The focus I invest in my job seems to have had a great impact on those around me.
— Justin Siame, Registrar

Justin enjoys setting and accomplishing goals in his role as registrar. He desires to see AIU continuing to produce impactful results through his service to the school and its students.

Since June of 2017, Justin has been married to Namakau, who is a pharmacist. Together they have two children, Cheri Nayame (6) and Joshua Cliff (7 mo.). Justin describes Namakau as a disciple of Jesus Christ and a mother at home. Justin continues to pursue advanced education and has currently completed two years of study toward a Ph.D.

Justin praises God for the sustenance and goodness that he experiences freely every day. Pray with him for growth into God’s love and Christlikeness.

STudent SPOTLIGHT!

ROBERT MWANZA

Junior

Robert Mwanza is a 2025 junior at AIU. He comes from the Petauke District in the Eastern Province of Zambia and is the second of six siblings.

Although he was born to Christian parents, Robert never understood the true meaning of life until he attended a routine church service in 2016. That day, a special guest came to preach the message. He helped Robert understand the gospel for the first time, leading him to place his faith in Christ. Since his conversion, Robert enjoys fellowship with other believers and seeks to help others grow in their walk with the Lord.

Coming to AIU is an immense blessing for Robert. Despite living many miles from his biological family, he feels the brothers at AIU are his second family.

Learning at Ambassador International University has always been a pleasure to me. In the few courses I have had so far, I have grown in my understanding of eternal salvation by God’s grace and I plan to spread this message through evangelism, organizing crusades, and planting churches across the world. This is where my heart is, to preach Christ crucified after my graduation.
— Robert Mwanza, Junior

Robert is thankful to all his sponsors and those who have poured into his life as he continues to grow in his walk with the Lord. He desires to see God use him for his glory. Pray with Robert for God’s wisdom, guidance, and strength, and that he would finish his studies well.

Thank you for your prayers and participation with us as we seek daily our Lord’s direction in preparing Africa’s next generation of Christian leaders at Ambassador International University!
